Occasional or short-term use of diluted bleach solution to clean silicone sealant usually does not cause damage. However, prolonged use or direct application of undiluted bleach may lead to discoloration and accelerated aging.
Uncured silicone sealant may contain organic solvents and small amounts of acidic substances. Direct contact can potentially irritate the skin or respiratory tract. After full curing, its chemical properties become stable, and it no longer releases harmful substances. Products that meet relevant standards can be safely used for direct food contact and sealing drinking water pipelines.
The cured silicone sealant can be scraped off with a blade or shovel, or removed by heating until it softens.
Or use chemical solvents to soften it first, such as acetone, nail polish remover, etc., and wipe it clean with a cloth or towel after softening.
