Both butyl rope and butyl tape are made from butyl sealant by extrusion process.Butyl rope is in cylindrical strips, while butyl tape is in flat ribbon shape.Butyl adhesive tape can be divided into two types: double-sided and single-sided according to the different adhesive faces.
First clean the surface of the material to be sealed, then press the butyl rope into the gap, cover the material to be bonded on the other side, and press firmly to complete the installation.
It takes about 1 hour for butyl rope to reach a stable solid state in conventional environments and 1-2 days. The specific time is affected by ambient temperature, humidity and construction thickness.
Butyl rope sealants usually do not have flame retardant properties, and only products with the word “flame retardant” clearly marked on the outer packaging have this property.
